Local business owner and resident Susan Bardon will be launching her historical fiction novel “MIALLO” at our August meeting – be among the first to hear Susan’s story and why she was inspired to write this novel.  Miallo is a tiny community in remote far north Queensland, and many people are unaware that it was bombed by the Japanese in WWII … Susan grew up in the area and has intertwined family stories with creative fiction and some little-known historical facts.  Books will be available to purchase on the day, and will also be able to be downloaded via Amazon onto Kindles and e-readers.

Presentation: It’s not personal, it’s personality.

‘Curiouser and curiouser’ cried Alice.

Have you ever had this same thought as Alice in Wonderland, about the people involved in your business? Whether it’s staff, clients, peers or perhaps, even your business partner, there always seems to be times that surprise, or even shock you at their reaction.   The good news is there is an explanation but first you need to be speaking the same language; that language is personality.  Imagine understanding what your employee’s comfort level is with change or what your new client’s risk profile is even before you work with them? This is all based on understanding someone’s personality.

At the end of this session, you will be given an overview of a common personality profiling tool DiSC and see how this can be used to understand your style and those around you.  It could even explain why those frustration levels rise.  Get ready to have a bit of fun also.
